PBA: Talk N Text retain Philippine Cup, make history
 

MANILA, Philippines (PBA All Philippine Cup): Talk N Text Tropang Texters became the first team in 27 years to retain the All Philippine Cup with a 110-101 win against Powerade Tigers in Game 5 of the Finals, thus clinching the best-of-seven series 4-1.

TnT coach Chot Reyes won the fifth Philippine Cup championship, and eighth combined title, of his career tying with Jong Uichico as the fourth most successive coach, as the team emulated Great Taste’s feat in 1985.

Ryan Reyes led the TnT with 20 points, 8 rebounds and all-time Finals high of 10 steals.

Ranidel De Ocampo, who had a forgettable Game 4, reeling in 18 points, and 6 assists. Jimmy Alapag contributed 17 points.

Gary David recorded his 14th 30-plus score in the season with a game-high 37 points, but the Tigers were nowhere in the race once TnT raced ahead 40-17 early in the second quarter.

Sean Anthony had 22 points and JayVee Casio added 19 points for Powerade.
