DOHA, Qatar (Heir Apparent Cup): Al Arabi played with oscillating form, but held fort when it mattered the most to eke out a 76-73 win over El Jaish and clinched the 2011-12 QBF Heir Apparent Cup on Friday.
A 13-2 run at the end of the second quarter took Arabi to a 32-29 lead going into the changing room, but bit was Jaish who called the shots in the third quarter.
Arabi were in the forefront once again at the start of the fourth period with a 13-7 run, and this time maintained their control over the scoreboard.
William Byrd led Arabi’s cause with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Mansour Elhadary had 18 points with Shelton Colwell adding 17 points, along with 10 rebounds.
Aleoni Se paced Jaish with 15 points and Sheikh Touri had 14 points.
