LONDON, United Kingdom (2012 London Olympics): China began slow and steady but exploded in the two middle quarters and raced away to a mammoth 83-58 win (Box scores) against Croatia in a Group A Prelim Round game in the 2012 London Olympics women’s basketball competition on Monday.
The win was China’s second success on the trot, having beaten the 2010 FIBA World Championship for Women silver medalists Czech Republic on Saturday (Game report), and kept their quest for a place in the quarterfinals well on course.
It was also China’s second biggest win in Olympic women’s basketball competition coming second to the 109-70 win they notched against Cuba at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Click here for more milestones achieved in the game and post-game comments.
