MANILA, Philippines (PBA All Philippine Cup): Alaska Aces registered a 87-69 win on Sunday night – for their fourth successive win – against Barangay Ginebra which also was incidentally the latter’s fourth straight defeat in the PBA All Philippine Cup.

Rookie Calvin Abueva’s 19 points and 9 rebounds led the Aces’ win with Jayvee Casio adding 16 and Cyrus Baguio 14.

“It’s so nice to make it four in a row,” Alaska coach Luigi Trillo said. “It’s so nice especially when you’re trying to find a new identity.”

“We have to find our identity, and I think we’ve got some pieces here,” he added.

Dylan Ababou’s 14 points was the highest for Ginebra.

San Miguel Coffee Mixers had earlier in the day snapped their two-game losing streak after PJ Simon’s jumpshot with 19.4 seconds left lad them to a 92-91 win against Barako Bull.

PJ Simon had 15 points in all behind James Yap’s 21 points.

Ronald Tubid’s 17 points paced Barako.

Twice defending champions Talk N Text who have set an early pace are perched on top having won all their six games so far, the 80-77 triumph against Rain or Shine on Saturday being the latest.

Action continues in PBA on Wednesday.
