WABL: Zob hold their own at crunch moments, enter semifinals

Iranian club Zob Ahan held their own at the crunch moments to eke out a 82-78 win in front of their home crowd in Game 2 of their WABA League quarterfinal series against Lebanon’s Al Moutahed on Monday to become the first team to book their place in the semifinals of this year’s competition.

WABL: Riyadi shrug off early hiccups, draw first blood against Duhok

Defending champions Al Riyadi Beirut took the entire first half to settle into their rhythm in Game 1 of their WABA League quarterfinal series against Iraq’s Duhok on Tuesday. But once they did, via an 11-0 run to open the second quarter, there was no stopping the Lebanese giants, who then rolled on to a 108-93 win.

WABL: Woods seals Zob’s victory over determined Moutahed

American Loren Woods capped his game-high score with a daunting three-point play with 17:48 left on the clock to lead Iran’s Zob Ahan to a 74-71 win past a feisty Al Moutahed in Game 1 of their quarterfinal series in the WABA League on Tuesday.
