It’s like two very familiar lions circling each other to assert the superiority of the territory in the jungle! No other analogy can better describe the situation as Al Riyadi Beirut of Lebanon and Mahram of Iran line up against each other in a ‘no quarter sought none given’ sort of battle of wits in the WABA League Finals starting at the former’s Manara court on Monday.

Defending champions Al Riyadi Beirut will host the first two games of the best-of-five WABA League Finals against Iranian outfit Mahram with the first game scheduled for April 2 at the Manara.

Omar El Turk produced a pleasant surprise of a performance leading defending champions Al Riyadi Beirut to a 93-67 win in Game 3 of the WABA League semifinals against fellow Lebanese team Champville on Tuesday, and a second successive appearance in the Finals of the prestigious competition.

Former champions Mahram turned on the heat in the latter part of the third quarter and cantered through for a 99-85 win against Zob Ahan in the decisive Game 3 of the WABA League semifinals on Tuesday.

Champville played well within themselves and held their own in the crunch situations to carved out an 85-78 win in Game 2 of their WABA League semifinals against fellow Lebanese team Al Riyadi Beirut on Tuesday.
